Basotect is an extremely lightweight, open-cell foam made from melamine resin, a thermoset polymer. This unique material can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Due to the combination of low weight (volumetric weight of 10 kg/m³) with flame retardance (highest level of the European Union safety standards - EN 45545-2) this material is ideally suited for the transportation industry – for road and rail vehicles and aircraft.
