Basotect

Basotect is an extremely lightweight, open-cell foam made from melamine resin, a thermoset polymer. This unique material can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Basotect is not only lightweight but also resistant to temperatures of up to 240°C. Its open-cell foam structure makes Basotect the perfect choice for thermal insulation and soundproofing. Due to the combination of low weight (volumetric weight of 10 kg/m³) with flame retardance (highest level of the European Union safety standards - EN 45545-2) this material is ideally suited for the transportation industry – for road and rail vehicles and aircraft. Moreover, Basotect is becoming increasingly popular for soundproofing in public buildings. This material is widely used in the construction industry owing to its flexibility and mouldability.

Basotect is available in several varieties whose specific characteristics make them suitable for a wide range of uses.
